My Life with Christ

I was a very blessed child, as I was raised with Godly parents. As far back as I can remember I have always been aware of God’s Spirit. My parents taught me early about the importance of prayer and this has been a great strength to me throughout all my life.

I can still remember when we were going to have weeklong revival meetings. Even though I would get tired of sitting 5-6 nights in a row, I never grew tired of hearing the messages that these men would bring. I was totally mesmerized by the Spirit that they brought with them. One particular man sticks in my mind, his name was Norman Page. He had such a vibrant spirit. When he preached I couldn’t even move I was so inspired and touched. I remember feeling sad when he would leave. I know even at that young age I was able to recognize the spirit in which he walked.

I remember the youth retreats I attended and how I was filled with God’s joy and learned of his Love. We had such great times and every year I looked forward to going to these retreats.

After reviewing the paragraphs above I wonder why I haven’t always chosen to walk with God. I have often detoured from his spirit and made choices that brought me grief. It’s during those that I felt forsaken by Him, not by his choice but by the choices I made that was contrary to his will.

As I sit here writing this testimony I praise God for always loving me even during those times that I tried to walk my way instead of his way. We can be forgiven of our sins and come back into his grace. All we have to do is to repent by asking for forgiveness. God loves each and every one of us and desires that we choose to walk and fellowship with him daily.

He gives each and everyone of us our agency to choose him or choose the world. I can tell you from experience that walking with him and basking in his spirit every day will brings a peace and hope in your life that you will never experience by being in the world.
